Week 1

Title: Company Meeting

Date: 9/7/2018

Attendance: William Howe, Oguzhan Tilki

Accomplishments

- First meeting with William Howe, Steve and other students who are members of Capstone Team.
- Learned general informations about Vehware company and their works.
- Watched videos which is about previous Vehware Truck project's.
- Source code of the project received from Professor Jones.
- Meeting hour arranged.

Problems

- There was no problem at this meeting.

Week 2

Title: Meeting

Date: 9/13/2018

Attendance: Merwyn Jones, Oguzhan Tilki

Accomplishments

- Shared information with Prof. Jones about Last meeting with Mr. Howe.
- Went over the Wiki essentials.
- Talked about CPT requirements. 
- Future meeting dates are determined.

Problems

- There was no problem at this meeting.

Week 3

Title: Company Meeting

Date: 09/21/2018

Attendance: William Howe, Oguzhan Tilki , Kubilay Ozata , Rana Ertem , Umithan Goktolga , Ezgi Durmazpinar

Accomplishments

- My CPT and the other team's members CPTs approved.
- Groups were separated based on the subject one Group decided to join the PACE team(Durmazpinar and Goktolga).
- The source code of the Truck project from spring 2016's senior Dual Diploma students is received from William with usb drive. 
- He explained what usb drive includes(source code , related information and student's presentation).
- Mr. Howe explained the tough part of the project which is about the changing background at the side of the truck.
- Mr. Howe informed us about funding options in the future which depends on the project's progresses and successes.
- He want us to check the code and try to understand what it is.

Problems

- There was no problem at this stage.

TODO

- All Vehware teams will meet with Prof. Jones in Thursday 09/27/2018.
- I will check the usb and try to understand what's in it.
- Projects Wiki page will be edited.

Week 4

Title: Company Meeting

Date: 9/28/2018

Attendance: William Howe, Steven Popovich, Oguzhan Tilki, Rana Ertem

Accomplishments

- The content of the usb drive that Bill gave last week was discussed.
- Usb drive's documentation order was unclear.
- Bill showed the idea of the project and what he want to see as an example (by drawing the schema).
- He has set the periodic goals as an deciding the best fit algorithm and becoming versed in OpenCV.
- Talked about getting some help from students who previously worked on this job (To easily understand 
  the source code).
- Mr. Howe said he will be busy next week because of some family issues .

Problems

- Documentation was unclear and I need more time to understand the source code.

TODO

- Schedule a meeting with Steven Popovich.
- Start working on OpenCV.
- Search about Computational Geometry.
- Try to understand different algorithms (Shape , Color).
- Search about Contrast Tracker and Pedestrian Tracker.

Week 5

Title: Gap Week(No meeting , Work from home)

Date: 10/5/2018

Accomplishments

- This week there was no meeting because William Howe was out of town and we had a time to go through the project for one more week to get it.
- In the group chat with Steven and Rana, we decided to meet next week with the participation of Mr Howe.
- During that gap week I searched the keywords that I get last week(About different algorithms).
- I tried to understand the source code and still making researches about it.

Problems

- Last week's problem is still going on.

TODO

- Schedule a meeting with Mr. Howe and Steven Popovich.
- We need to set a meeting time with Prof. Jones and all the students who is in Vehware. 
- I Need to make a plan for the whole month.

Week 6

Title: Fall Break

- Schedule need to be updated based on time periods.
- We need to set a meeting time with Prof. Jones and all the students who is in Vehware.

Week 7

Title: Work from Home

Date: 10/19/2018

Accomplishments

- This week there was not a meeting because William Howe was out of town and we wanted to go through the project for a better accomplishment.
- During that gap week I searched the things that we will use in project.

Problems

- I need to get in touch with Swapnil because we will work together on project.

TODO

- Schedule a new meeting day according to William, Rana, Swapnil and me.
- We need to set a meeting time with Prof. Jones and all the students who is in Vehware. 
- I need to make some more researchs about project.
- Projects Wiki page will be edited.

Week 8

Title: Meeting With Prof Jones, Bill Howe, Swapnil

Date: 10/26/2018

Accomplishments

- This week we discuss whole project with both Bill and Prof Jones (the aim of project and milestones).
- We looked at the oldest version of source code and as swapnils said there are many confliction between versions.

Problems

- At this stage I have some questions on my mind about the detecting danger zone from video.

TODO

- We will make sure that the latest version of code will work without any problem (without an error).
- Need to convert code to newest version with new library functions. 
- I want to make a proposal about using lidars to get distance between truck and other objects.

Week 9

Title: Meeting

Date: 11/04/2018

Accomplishments

- This week I was planning to propose a new idea about the project which is about the Lidar systems
  which is well known, widely used by the biggest automotive companies(Tesla, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen etc.
  which have Hundreds of Engineers) and completely works with our project .
- My idea was using Lidars to get every single data about the distance between Truck and surroundings Because lidar's output 
  covers everything that we wanted one by one (Danger Zones with red, yellow and green) and they works in realtime without 
  any more computations on the output data.
- As Rana Ece Ertem said she proposed my idea and its rejected in order to decline the cost.
- As a result of the discussion they have made a decision which is I and Rana Ece Ertem will create a better and more
  efficient system than Tesla's 300 engineers did.(I was proud of myself for being so trusted) 
- The first step is stil remaining which is running the code which uses Lucas Kanade Tracking algorithm.

Problems

- This week I couldn't join the meeting because I was sick.
- I have some doubts on the algorithms that the source code consisted (I am looking for more comprehensive algorithms
  that we can use both for tracking and calculations)

TODO

- I will run the source code that I recieved from Prof. Jones.
- I will figure out if is there any algorithm that is more efficient and multitasking.

Week 12

Title:Final Presentation Date: 11/29/2018

Accomplishments - We created a presentation this week about what what we have achieved so far and what we aim to achieve for the next term. - We had a meeting with Merwyn Jones to learn what was missing in the project presentation and we fixed it regardingly. - On thursday, we have been told that the video needed to be greyscale in order to make the driver more conscious on the

 zone colors rather then focusing on different colored cars.

- Both library and Indentation problems are solved. - Source code works properly but not in real time. - In presentation I mentioned about more efficient and faster algorithm that can (maybe) make it possible to use it in real time (MOSSE).

Problems

- We need to use more efficient algorithm because our aim is making this program in realtime .

TODO

- Make some slight changes that prof Jones and Bill pointed on presentation.
- Be ready for Season 2 Episode 1.
