World Building
From CS486wiki
There are two approaches to building worlds for Open Wonderland each has its plus' and minus'.
- Method one - Using your modeling tool (Google Sketchup) create the individual models for each of the objects you want in your world and save then as .skp files and export them as .kmz files. In Open Wonderland, go into administration and ask for an empty world, restart the wonderland servers and then one by one drag and drop the .kmz files of your models into the empty world. Once you have added all of the .kmz files go back into administration and save a snapshot of the world you just created.
The problem with this method of world building is that when a user's client goes to load the world it must download each of the models into the empty world before the user can start any useful work in the world.
- Method two -
