3D Plans
Model Creation
Models may be created using any of the popular 3D editing tools; if possible the target file type should be .3ds to allow easy conversion to X3D. Currently all models are being created in Google Sketchup (student, free version) and converted to .3ds using Google Sketchup Pro.
Conversion to X3D
Models will be converted from .3ds to .x3d using AC3D (or whatever the currently envogue file converter is). This would be nice if we used a server to allow the file conversions.
Display of X3D Models
Currently models are being displayed in Google Sketchup in their native Sketchup format. The plan of record is to show models in X3D using one of the browser plugins (Flux, SwirlX3D, Octaga)
